2026 Summer Reading Program
Join us at the Greenwood Area Library for a summer of reading and activities for all ages! Begins June 1st and runs through August 14th.
Summer Reading Programs


Grades 4k-5th
Record the minutes read throughout the summer, finish the reading log and turn it in by August 14th for a prize!
Earn extra raffle tickets for grand prizes by completeing the Summer Challenges on the back of the reading log and by participating in our summer programs.

Grades 6th-12th
Read 9 chapter books by August 14th to win a prize!
Fill out your reading log and turn it in by August 14th. You will receive a prize and raffle tickets for a chance to win a grand prize.
Participate in other summer programs to earn extra raffle tickets for grand prizes.

Summer school students will get the chance to hear from Storyteller Carol McCormick on June 24th.
Summer Events at the Library

Lego Club
Every Thursday
June, July, August
Noon to 4pm
Join us for some creative fun this summer. Creations will be displayed at the library until the following Lego Club.

Sidewalk Chalk Days
Fridays in June & July starting June 5th
All Day-Come as you can
Swing by the library & create something unique for everyone walking by to enjoy! There will be weekly themes. Chalk will be provided.

DIY Stress Ball
June 29th – July 3rd
Ages: 6-13
Stop in and make yourself a stresss ball! All materials will be supplied by the library.

Dino Dig Kit
Sign up by June 19th for your very own Dino Dig kit.
Participants will be notified once their kits are available.

Dinosaur Skeleton Craft
July 15th
11am till 2pm
Stop in and create a fun dinosaur craft.

Dinosaur Skeleton Mold
August 12th
Noon-4pm
Stop in and make a fun dinosaur mold. All materials will be provided by the library.

Adopt a Dinosaur
Month of July
During the entire month of July, kids can stop in and adopt a dinosaur, but first they need to find one! Go on a scavenger hunt to find the dinosaur you want to adopt, then fill out the adoption card in order to take it home.
